Society of Transformational Living
AKA "VTSoftLiving"
We are a group of Vermont homesteader's who...learn, live, love and grow. We would like to introduce you to our "soft living" lifestyle!

About
The Society of Transformational Living is a place where folks who would like to use and teach; traditional bush craft/survival skills, all natural medicinal care, homesteading/farming skills, permaculture/companion planting techniques, and so much more can gather and do so. We want to make a living doing what we love and give back to our communities and the surrounding areas.
Who's who?
Amber Lumbra and Barak Darling, from Kephra Farm in South Ryegate, VT, and Abe Owen, an independant homesteader have teamed up to provide help for each other while we each begin our own personal business ventures. By working together we realized we wanted to expand and help others. So, we created the Society of Transformational Living, AKA VTSoftLiving. We are working on a couple of projects and events in which we hope schools, libraries, and individuals can utilize for educational purposes.
Latest Project
Prepared beds, soil, watering area, and so much more! The season creeps upon you quicker then you think. Up North we get used to long days in the winter, so the change in season always sends us scuttling off in all directions, but we quickly adjust and it's back to normal. I personally get very excited for muddy backroads and the first signs of green! Plants are in....and now we weed and wait.

Kephra Farm will be hosting yard sales July 8,9,15, and 16th. All proceeds go towards the cost of up-cycling collection bins, whatever construction might be needed to get the up-cycling center running, as well as the filing cost associated with applying for non-profit status, and the eventual purchase of land for the expansion of the up-cycling center as well as the addition of our other non-profit projects.
News 2
Work is underway here at Kephra for the set up of our first project, our Terracycle up-cycling center. As of right now the site is a small enclosed section of our mini barn. It is not exactly what I had in mind for the center, but as we are setting it up in my backyard, we will be using what we have. Our group does have plans to eventually purchase land on which we will be moving the up-cycling center to, and setting up our other projects. This is a long term goal. However we can start small and we are happy to begin the undertakings of cleaning out the barn and getting the collection containers ready for our Terracycle up-cycling center and for reaching out to local community hotspots like the local libraries and schools in an attempt to set up a pick up location in which we leave collection bins and then return and empty as needed, this way our collection gathering can reach those who may not visit our main site.
